$170,000.00/yr - $210,000.00/yr

Back End Engineer sought for a fast-growth and exciting startup based in SF who have built a product (CFD/simulation) aimed at engineering teams building the next generation of robotics/UAV/aviation products. You will have the chance to work with a small but growing talented engineering team, helping to define and scale the core architecture and backend systems of cutting-edge products.

Whilst it is great if you have some UI/front-end experience (React), the key focus of this role is solid back end engineering as well as security/infrastructure experience.

This role will involve:

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs, emphasizing reliability and scalability.
• Oversee infrastructure and deployment pipelines (AWS, Kubernetes, DevOps).
• Ensure best practices in security and infrastructure-as-code, especially relevant in cloud environments.
• Collaborate with front-end and full-stack engineers to deliver seamless product experiences.

Requirements:

• Proven experience designing and scaling backend systems using Python (ideally with FastAPI)
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, and general DevOps tooling.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and cloud security best practices.
• Minimal or no front-end experience required (nice to have)
• Background in startup, automomous or product driven environments as a bonus
