Dunnage Placement operator capable of learning multiple task job stations. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Dunnage Placement operator ensures production goals are met with a focus on uptime, product quality, and overall mill performance. This role is ideal for someone with attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety.
Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Pay Rate: $25.24 per hour plus Production Incentive Bonus
What You'll Do - Works from rolling schedules and SAP to ensure proper size, gauge, length, and bundle configuration are processed.
- Sets up and operates bundling equipment/strapping machines to produce bundles according to production planning.
- Uses SAP and printer to produce bar code tags; completes hand tags as needed.
- Operates stud welder to attach bar code tags.
- Communicates with Bundler Operators to ensure continuous process flow.
- Maintains an adequate supply of banding and other required materials.
- Performs gauge checks using a micrometer on each bundle and records findings.
- Identifies and non-conforms any bundles that are or appear to be out of specification.
- Completes all operating reports and quality reports as required.
- Maintains regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule.
Who You Are - Associate degree and at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Completion of military service is considered equivalent to a 2-year degree.
- Tube mill manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; basic computer skills; able to read measuring devices and perform basic math.
- Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Visual acuity to read and record numerical data accurately.
- Demonstrates attention to detail, dependability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
Physical Abilities - Regularly stands, walks, uses hands, handles or feels, and reaches with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull; can lift up to 50 lbs.
