Job Description

This position is responsible for operations functions associated with the production of fuel ethanol and associated co-products. Perform processing functions in the cook, distillation, energy center and/or distributive control system (DCS) areas of ethanol production with assistance. Perform activities relating to processing functions such as hammer mills management, slurry tank operations, yeast, fermentation, distillation, evaporation, dryer and boiler operations. Monitor production processes and adjust equipment settings or raw materials inputs as directed to ensure the optimal efficiency in the production process. Perform general product sampling, document results, and report findings to crew leadership and/or laboratory personnel. Maintain documentation and record key production data as directed. Operate various types of mobile equipment. Perform general housekeeping tasks. The facility operates 24x7 and works 2 shifts per day (7:00 - 7:00 each) with weekend work on a rotating schedule. Shift assignment will be consistent but may not be permanent, so candidates must be able to work either day or night shift based on business needs. Night shift assignment receives $2.00 shift differential. The position requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process, working within clearly defined standard operations procedures and/or scientific methods and adhering to quality guidelines, and working with close supervision. Minimum qualifications include High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred, Associate’s level or higher degree preferred, 0-2 years’ relevant experience, basic computer operation and data entry skills, valid driver’s license, and previous production experience preferred. Physical requirements include frequent exposure to adverse weather conditions, dust, fumes, noise, and potentially hazardous material, willingness and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ability to lift 50 - 100 pounds frequently, and some work performed in heights. Willingness to work day or night shift based on company needs.
