Instructional Assistant, Early Intervention Join to apply for the Instructional Assistant, Early Intervention role at Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit . Position Overview The individual in this role will assist classroom teachers in instructing and supervising students. Reporting Relationship The Instructional Assistant reports to the Supervisor of Special Programs and Services. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Associate Degree or Highly Qualified Status preferred. Skills and Knowledge Ability to work effectively in a team. Maintain confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and understanding. Strong oral and written communication skills. Understanding of basic educational terminology. Attention to detail and accuracy. Regular attendance during assigned hours. Engage in professional development (20 hours annually). Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, sit, lift, reach, and communicate effectively. Independent mobility within work areas. Ability to travel to work locations. Manual dexterity and ability to perform physical tasks, including safety protocols. Responsibilities Assist in teaching and supervising students, including social, communication, and behavior management activities. Prepare instructional materials and assist with data collection. Support students with personal hygiene and daily activities. Maintain attendance records and perform clerical tasks. Operate technology and assistive devices. Supervise outdoor activities and assist with transportation. Implement behavior management strategies and support individual independence. Participate in professional development and emergency procedures. Additional Notes This role may include other duties as assigned.
