Position Summary/Objective of job:
The Sanitation Supervisor’s main function is to oversee the day-to-day sanitation of our Central Kitchen. The Sanitation team’s goal is to reinforce a culture of food safety, good housekeeping, and cleanliness and to maintain sanitation and hygiene standards in various areas of the facility, including production lines, equipment, and common areas. The Sanitation Supervisor leads a team of Sanitation Specialists and actively engages in problem-solving, cultivates a positive work environment to empower Sanitation Team Members, and coaches and supports Team Members to meet the daily sanitation goals. The results of a successful Sanitation Supervisor include having a production facility that meets or exceeds standards for sanitation and having an engaged and knowledgeable Sanitation Team.
Essential Functions:
Supervise and lead a team of Sanitation Specialists in performing cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the facility, ensuring proper sanitation of required equipment, machines, tools, and surfaces.
Develop and implement sanitation schedules, ensuring that all areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to established procedures and timelines.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of sanitation activities, including cleaning logs, inspection reports, chemical usage, and training records.
Validate effectiveness of cleaning processes; review CIP documentation daily, confirming temperature, time, and concentration were met on all equipment.
Complete daily swab check, and record results; take remedial action if results don’t meet dictated parameters.
Train new sanitation staff on proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling procedures, and safety protocols; monitors and ensures Team Members’ adherence to GMPs, safety policies, SOPS, SSOPs, allergen protocols, company polices, and food safety measures.
Create, implement, and maintain SOP and SSOPs related to Sanitation department.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of sanitation practices, equipment condition, and facility cleanliness to identify areas for improvement.
Maintain a detailed understanding of the equipment and production processes. Act as subject matter expert regarding the CIP and COP systems.
Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to maintain and repair sanitation equipment and facilities as needed.
Investigate or escalate sanitation-related incidents, such as contamination events or equipment breakdowns, and participate in implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment.
Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance knowledge of sanitation practices, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to sanitation in food manufacturing.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3+ years working in commercial food preparation, manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment.
2+ years sanitation experience.
2+ years managing people in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with MS Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge and Critical Skills:
Fluency in English.
Spanish speaking as a second language is preferred.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to bring hospitality into all interactions.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working both independently and on a team in a manufacturing facility.

Strong knowledge of GMPs, food safety, HACCP principes, and sanitation procedures; sanitation equipment.
Strong knowledge of pertinent local, federal, and state health and safety laws and regulations.
Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Proficiency in using sanitation equipment and cleaning chemicals safely and efficiently.
Ability to troubleshoot sanitation-related issues and implement effective solutions.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment is a restricted space where spatial awareness is very important.
The work environment is loud due to the equipment.
The work environment is bright and well-lit.
A portion of the time will be in the production room, which is between 50-60 degrees.
Frequently be in refrigerators 32-40 degrees and in freezers -15 to 0 degrees.
Room is occasionally wet when cleaning.
Occasionally strong scents & odors, depending on ingredients and cleaning.
Exposure to chemical cleaning solutions (chlorine, acid, and detergents).
Wage Transparency:
We are actively embracing pay transparency by disclosing the hiring wage for this role as $21.90-23.40, highlighting its full earning potential within the broader range of $21.90-26.77.
