The Position Our Hillsboro Innovative Therapies (HIT) team is responsible for delivering a fast-evolving portfolio of new Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT) products to bring new curative treatments to patients.
The Technical Materials Manager role is a valuable part of our Materials Management team, which is dedicated to ensuring the seamless flow of materials to support our organizational objectives and customer needs. The Opportunity In this individual contributor role, you will oversee daily activities within the Materials Management operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and seamless flow of materials. Your leadership and expertise will drive department-related projects, corrective actions, and compliance with all policies and standards. Accountabilities include:
- Overseeing daily activities including receiving, kitting, shipping, and manufacturing operations
- Representing the department during audits, addressing issues and initiatives as required
- Performing and providing oversight to project activities, including investigating, formulating solutions, and communicating results
- Leading and performing corrective/preventative actions for deviations and change control within the established Quality Management System
- Handling all work activities in a safe and compliant manner according to Genentech policies, procedures, and trainings
- Managing the receipt, storage, handling, dispensing, release, and issuance of raw materials, intermediates, reagents, GMP supplies, and packaging materials
- Creating and revising standard operating procedures (SOPs) relevant to department processes and managing related project activities
- Utilizing manual labor, pallet jacks, and forklifts to move products and supplies to and from storage locations and delivery trucks
Who You Are: - You possess a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field AND at least 4 years of experience in warehouse and distribution management in biotech/pharma or related industries (or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree)
- You have in-depth working knowledge of inventory management principles and distribution and cold-chain practices
- You have demonstrated capabilities working with integrated inventory management databases such as SAP
Preferred Experience: - Experience in lead or leadership roles, demonstrating an ability to lead and guide teams in order to support and drive operational excellence
- APICS certification
- DOT, IATA, international shipment expertise
Relocation benefits are not available for this posting. This is an on-site position; remote work is not offered at this time. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Oregon is $80,500 (min) - $115,000 (mid) - $149,500 (max). Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
